A car broken down only means many things, but one thing is sure, you will rely on rides to and from work or public transportation.
In the past week I’ve been on the train more than 5 times and every time is a new experience.

Gentle-Lady : At six feet five I hear everything about my height but this new one on the train really surprised me.
I was sitting by this “gentle-lady” who was quite annoyed that I was stealing his shine.
Listening to my iPad nano* I was pushed as she wanted to seat elsewhere. The person seating across from us later told me he was saying “I dont like you sitting here, you blocking my business”.
We could not figure out who he was exactly but she was not too happy that a taller man sat next to him.*

iHateZune : This guy really was shocked as I answered a call from my iPad nano.
He approached me later as if he really did a good choice buying a zune and what were the advantages of the iPhone.
Well if you know me, you know how long that discussion lasted and the greatest thing is on my way back home I met him again on the train this time with and iPod touch. Now he has a portable Zune Drive. :-) Not sure if its apple or me, but one of us is very influential.

Tri-Rail Idol : No matter how loud I had my headphones, this lady down the cab was always going a note higher and I’d still hear her. She was signing in spanish. I’m certain it was a love song, however not too certain that Ricardo would really come back to her. Simon like comments were being heard all over the cab as everyone knew she would not hear them. Quite a funny scene.

So many others.
BTW we still did not figure out if the gentle lady was a men or women.

“Il n’est jamais trop tard pour bien faire.”
Last year close to the very end I’ve decided that I would take more care of my photography & get ready for a head on chalenge with myself for the new year. As always I’ve neglected my descision to do so.
I’m no “New Year’s Resolution” specialist but this time I have a goal & I will get there.
Happy New Year to all!

The Bench Warmers

Another trip to the beach.
There is this pavilion not too far from work that I often drive by and today I decided to drop by.
Packed with seniors enjoying the beach breeze and the horizon pulling out my phone and snapping pictures left and right proved to be difficult. I didn’t want to pass as some kind of spy or perv.
I discretely try to snap one or two shots but they all turned out blurry or underexposed.
Tried a couple more when an elderly gentlemen approached me and said, don’t be afraid.
He was standing tall, almost as tall as I. I smiled back at him and kept shooting. He later asked me why was I trying to shoot the steps with a phone.
This then opened the door for me to talk about my site and he got interested. We chatted a bit more about his time serving the army as an engineer, some politics and even how he lost faith in American car makers.
It was a great conversation and lots of history until he got all quiet, maybe reminiscing on the past.

Couple minutes later, “Look at those bench-warmers, they are the foxes of my days” he said pointing at 3 ladies on a nearby bench.
We walk towards them & he introduces me to his wife and her “bowling friends” as he referred to them.
I then notice the corner bench they were sitting on, I liked the symmetry and asked the ladies if I could take a picture. They kindly accepted to move to the side and we got the picture of the day.
Thank you CPL Gareth, His wife and The Bowling buddies. They promised to visit the site, but decline me taking a group picture for the site :-)

The Canon Shooter

I don’t often make stops by the beach, but for this photo I was thinking about what cool picture I could come up with at the beach with my iPhone. I head to the beach late afternoon in hope of a sunset picture.
At the beach exploring many possibilities I overheard two gentlemen having an active conversation about Canon VS Nikon DSLRs. I get closer and shout “I shoot Nikon”. If you know a thing or two about DSLRs you’ll know where this conversation headed.

The heated debate goes on for a while until this tall lady walks towards us and claims she’s ready.
This is when Dwight & Reggie introduces me to the young lady, their model, they will be shooting at sunset.
Dwight and Reggie are more Photoshop gurus then photographers hence the reason why they specialize in model. Dwight, the Canon shooter confides in me he sometimes thinks of himself as Mr. Gaussian Blur. They head off to the beach and invite me to look at their shoot.

The shoot goes one for about an hour until I had to leave as it was getting darker and I knew the iPhone would not pull off much if it got too dark.
Walking away Dwight ask me for a business card so we can stay in contact and it struck me.
I walk back to their model tell her about my site and ask her if I could have her pose for a photo which will be the second photo on my site.
She happily accepted and we went off to an iPhone photoshoot. The Canon Shooter sat by watching until we got the picture of the day.

Blue Skies

This is the first picture in the series of “A Picture A Day”, Blue Skies. This picture could easily have been called “Garlic Sky”. Why you ask?
I was sitting in the car, with Angelique beach side enjoying some great Italian garlic rolls from Umberto’s in Boca Raton. The sky was dark and it was drizzling out. Enjoying the aroma of the fresh, hot rolls the sky suddenly clears and this deep blue sky emerges with a hot burning sun. I power up my phone & snap. Picture of the day.
More picture were taken but did not make it as POTD.

If you think one of the other pictures should have been picture of the day write something in the comments.
